Privacy Policy

This page covers Ages of Dominion — the game itself, the game client on the web, and the native iOS and Android apps. It explains what data we collect, where it goes, and what we do not do with it.
Summary
- Your games stay on your device. The whole simulation runs locally (the engine is compiled to WebAssembly), so single-player games never reach a server.
- An account is optional. Without one, everything still works offline. With one, we store your email address and your game records.
- No advertising, no third-party analytics, no selling your data. The game contains no ad SDKs and no tracking scripts.
- The native apps are the same game in a wrapper: they add nothing to what is below.
1. Information We Collect
a. This website (ages-of-dominion.blueforge.studio)
This site is a static Astro build served over HTTPS from BlueForge's own hosting. We run no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no tracking scripts on the marketing pages. Server logs on our infrastructure record standard request metadata (IP address, requested URL, response status, user agent) for operational purposes — abuse prevention and capacity planning. Logs are retained for 30 days and never shared.
b. The game client (https://app.ages-of-dominion.blueforge.studio) and the apps
The game runs entirely on your device. The engine is a Rust simulation compiled to WebAssembly and executed locally, so a single-player game — its map, its cities, its diplomacy — never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us. We receive nothing from a single-player session.
The client stores your saves, settings, and interface preferences in your browser's local storage (or, in the native apps, in the app's private sandbox on your device). That data stays on the device: deleting the app, or clearing site data, removes it. We cannot read it, and we cannot recover it for you.
The native iOS and Android apps are a wrapper around this same client. They contain no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no third-party tracking. The App Store and Google Play distribute them; see Apple's privacy policy for the diagnostic and usage data Apple itself collects from apps installed through its store.
c. If you create an account
An account is optional — the single-player game does not need one. If you sign in (for cloud saves and, once the online services are switched on, for ranked play), we store:
- your email address and a hashed password;
- your game records — the saves you upload, and the match results behind a skill rating;
- your account identifier, and the timestamps of your sessions.
Accounts are provided through forge-auth, BlueForge's shared sign-in service, which keeps a signed-in session across BlueForge apps. We do not ask for a name, a phone number, a location, or a payment method, and we do not read your contacts, photos, or files.
d. When the online services are switched on
The multiplayer services (lobbies, matchmaking, the match server) are built but not yet in public operation. When they are, they need exactly what a match needs and no more: an account identifier, your queue choice, and the result of the match for the skill rating (Glicko-2). Crash diagnostics are collected to fix the game and are not used for anything else. Nothing in that path is used for advertising.
2. Cookies and local storage
This website uses no cookies. The game client uses a first-party session cookie only when you are signed in, and local storage for your saves and settings. The native apps use the same first-party cookie, and the app's own sandboxed storage — neither is readable by us or by another app.
3. Third-party services
We link to GitHub, Twitter/X, and Discord from the footer. Those services have their own privacy policies. We do not embed their scripts on this site, and the game embeds nothing from them. The games' artwork, audio, and simulation are all served from BlueForge infrastructure — the game downloads no assets from a third-party CDN.
4. Data retention
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Account data: for as long as your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Uploaded saves: until you delete them or close the account.
- Match results and ratings: for the life of the ladder season, and then they are dropped.
5. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold about you. You can also object to processing, and you can ask for a copy of your data in a portable format. Where you are in the EU/UK, these are rights you have under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and we honour them for everyone regardless of where you live.
Email admin@blueforge.studio and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU and we cannot resolve your complaint, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
6. Children
Ages of Dominion is not directed at children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not sell or share anyone's personal data — including a child's.
7. Changes
We will update this page and bump the date above if our practices change in a material way. Because this policy also covers the iOS and Android apps, a change to the game's data handling will appear here before it ships in an app update.
